e-element z88 Gaming Keyboard Review

HeyDerp here, I’m anxious to do an unboxing on this totally cool RGB mechanical keyboard.  I haven’t gotten my fingers on one of these yet, but I vow that it will be my next tech purchase.

e-element z88 mechanical gaming keyboard review
HeyDerp reviews his favorite gaming keyboard, the e-element z88.

Reason 1:  This is a best “bang for the buck” gaming keyboard for $36 USD.

Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, E-Element Z88 DIY Blue Switches, Rainbow LED Backlit, Water-Proof, Compact 81 Keys Anti-Ghost, Black

Reason 2:  There are tons of RGB display setting options to make your keyboard light up in colors that match your personal setup.  The photo above is show with chroma wave, but watch this video to see a few more examples:

Reason 3: Why MECHANICAL instead of MEMBRANE?  Switches are the mechanisms beneath each key cap that register your finger strokes.  Mechanical, in my opinion, is best because it has the fastest response time.  With mechanical, you can choose different sensitivity levels in the switches.  Some register with small impact and others make a big bump once the stroke is landed.  Some are quite and some are loud and make a satisfying click with each key depression.   Membrane keyboards are composed of a set of three plastic membranes, with rubber dome-shaped switches underneath each key – key strokes are digitally registered.

Reason 4: This keyboard does not have a number pad on the right hand side, making it shorter in length.  I prefer this because I use a low DPI mouse setting (250), which requires a larger traveling distance or movement of the mouse to get the courser from one side of the screen to the other.  By shortening the keyboard, there is more space in the workstation immediately in front of me for the mouse to comfortably travel in.

Reason 5: ANTI-GHOSTING!!!  “Ghosting” is a technical difficulty experienced when multiple keyboard keys are pressed simultaneously, but not all the keystrokes are registered.  The keystrokes that are not registered, or that the computer did not respond to are called “Ghosted”.    Anti-ghosting technology allows for more key strokes to be registered at the same time.

I hope this keyboard finds its way into your gaming setup.  If it does please drop me a comment and let me know your experience with its performance.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXIVR8060A4 – Review

cyberpowerpc i5 gtx1060 tech ratings and review
CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXIVR8060A4 Desktop Gaming PC (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz, NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD, Win 10 Home) Black

HeyDerp gives this one a 5 star recommendation for awesome components, (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz processor, NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphic card with its own independent 3GB of memory, storage of 1TB hard drive plus an extra 120GB SSD, memory is 8GB DDR4 RAM.

All these above mentioned goodies are showcased in a  see-through black and red light up LED case. AFFORDABLY PRICED UNDER $900!

What this means in the gaming arena is that you get THE BEST “Bang for your Buck” processor – the Intel i5-7400.  If you are playing an MMO game like Minecraft, this processor has the core strength to run your game smoothly, quickly and lag-spike free.  You need high frame rate per second, to render items and opponents moves.  BenchmarkLabs demonstrates a high FPS rate of 744 playing vanilla Minecraft on a  gaming PC with an Intel i5 + NVIDIA GTX 1060 combo.  This is really good performance, watch the video at:

Style: Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB|Size: Processor: Intel I5-7400 3.0GHz|Verified Purchase
After exhaustive research, finally ordered this PC.
Was looking for VR capable, upgradeable, and SSD system drive.
While there are more options available on the vendor’s website, I decided to get this model through Amtazon.
Very minor cosmetic quality issues:
– Clear plastic window had rub marks along the bottom (inside).
– “Intel Core i5” sticker crooked.
Pleasantly surprised that the installed 8GB SDRAM DDR4 was a single DIMM occupying only one of the 4 slots.
Means easy upgrade to 16 & 32GB+ without having to toss the already paid for DIMM.
Ordered “Display Port” cable for connecting to my primary monitor which is running flawlessly.
(wanted to keep the HDMI free for future VR)
System runs very quiet and boot is lightning fast thanks to the SSD.
Haven’t really pushed the envelope yet. Will Update the review if there are issues.
Would give 4.75 as the only issues were cosmetic.

Purchased this as a gaming and family use computer. Unboxed, set up, and it works exactly as it should. As a side note, the exact specs of my computer are: CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXIVR8060A4 Desktop Gaming PC (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz, NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD, Win 10 Home) Black—and it was shipped with a WiFi USB adapter. I had read other reviews after purchase, was unclear if I would be able to connect to my wireless network, so went and bought one. This was unnecessary for this particular product. Super happy with this computer.

Just received yesterday, a day earlier than expected. Easy setup but came with no instructions. Quiet. Haven’t pushed it’s performance yet but initial indications with software installs, web rendering, etc., it makes me think that the existing reviews stating that it’s a great entry-level gaming machine are accurate. Love the SSD for fast startup and adding a 2nd monitor today.

Alienware 13 Gaming Laptop Review from HeyDerp.

Hi, HeyDerp here – I WISH, wish WiSh! I had the Alienware 13 inch gaming laptop in front of me to review.  But not yet – I’m saving up for it.

I have officially decided that the Alienware 13 gaming laptop is my favourite choice for my first purchase computer (up to now I have been using my dad’s old, very old office PC).  Let me list some reasons why I, or any entry level Minecraft gamer, must have this computer.

Reason 1: The price is reasonable!

Reason 2:  7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ

You might ask, what is the Core i5 and why would I want that when i9’s are available.  Good question –  I am a Minecraft gamer and I choose the i5 because it is the best “dollar for performance” investment for your gaming fun.   I have done some research and found that Intel is a preferable computer processor manufacturer to AMD and equivalents.  The processor is like the brain of the computer, the difference between i5 or i7-i9 is that i7-i9 can multi-task, handle multi-media and high end (virtual) gaming at a quicker speed.  They are are  aimed at people who complain that their current system is “too slow.”  For my gaming and multi-media purposes (Minecraft, Discord, YouTube) i5 is all the computer-brain power I need.

Reason 3: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 2GB GDDR5

This is your graphics card. When you’re gaming, it matters how fast your computer is able to load the graphics onto to your screen, this is measured in fps (frames per second) or fpm (frames per minute) as I happen to get on my 8 year old PC :).  Increasing your fps (frames per second) allows your player to interact better with the moving environment and other players in combat.  You will be better at pvp (player versus play) combat if you are more quickly seeing the moves of your opponent.

From reviews I’ve read, this the best graphics card you can get in its price range.

Reason 4: 8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz

This is your RAM, or random-access memory.  This 8 Gigabytes of space is not where all your programs are stored, it is where the files your computer is currently using (like in a running game or graphics program) are kept for immediate use.  Many games and graphics programs today require a minimum of 4GB just to operate, I feel that 8GB will provide ample RAM for my gaming performance.

Reason 5: COOLNESS!

You are able to program the keyboard lights and even program the track-pad to light up whenever you click it.  The shape looks cool and futuristic with the Alienware logo on the laptop lid (also programable to light up).  Check it out for yourself on this video.
